The Whitecaps have struggled so far this season to secure stability in the Western Conference and although they sit just one place behind FC Dallas in the league their opponents this weekend have had less losses, that said FC Dallas haven’t had much to shout about either, although 4th in the Western and 4 points ahead of Vancouver they have had a hard time recently to show stability also, evident in their last MLS game against the Portland Timbers where they lost 2-0 at Providence Park.
Vancouver also arrive at this match with a defeat in their last game at the hands of D.C United who beat them 1-0 on their home turf which was a bit of an upset when you consider D.C currently sit bottom of the Eastern Conference.
If defence is the key of this game Vancouver are set to suffer a blow as 3 of their defenders are currently injured, don’t expect to see Levis, Edgar or Dean, as also are 2 midfield and 2 strikers.
Also worth taking into account here is that FC Dallas have had some decent results away from home although recently that statistic has been somewhat dented with defeats away from home to Portland and Chicago.
Take away Vancouvers disappointing game against DC United last month though and you will see that the Whitecaps have had some very good form at home in the last 3 of 4, this alone is enough to give them the edge here and gives us enough evidence to suggest they should win this game this Saturday.
Vancouver Whitecaps to win 2-1 seems good value at 8/1.
